MoreNET Turns to InfoVista, Offers Members Superior Network Performance and Utilization
State Network Provider Upgrades with VistaInsight for Networks
Paris, France and Herndon, VA (United States), Dec. 6, 2005 – InfoVista (NASDAQ: IVTA; Euronext IFV - FR0004031649), the leading service-centric performance management software company, announced today efficiency, productivity and member-service improvements achieved by the Missouri Research and Education Network (MOREnet) through the use of InfoVista’s VistaInsight for Networks. MOREnet upgraded to InfoVista’s service-centric performance management solution based on VistaInsight for Networks’ flexibility and ability to ease integration with existing systems and applications.
In an increasingly competitive environment for managed network services, service providers like MOREnet must simultaneously maximize investments in network resources while offering members high availability and performance of their networks as well as differentiated performance reporting options. This is a central issue for MOREnet, which provides Internet connectivity and technical support as part of its service offering to Missouri’s K-12 schools, colleges and universities, public libraries, health care, state government and other affiliated organizations. Today, MOREnet leverages InfoVista’s VistaInsight for Networks solution to cost-effectively and efficiently maximize network utilization rates through detailed usage reporting and historical analysis of bandwidth and traffic.
“We selected VistaInsight for Networks based on its flexibility and ability to facilitate automated integration with multiple APIs, many of which are home-grown,” said Steve Cochran, network systems coordinator, MOREnet. “These features alone have significantly driven down support and maintenance costs and increased the productivity and accuracy of MOREnet’s network management group.”
MOREnet is able to keep fees low, benefiting MOREnet and end users alike, because InfoVista eases integration with legacy applications and systems. Moreover, through InfoVista’s historical analysis capabilities, MOREnet is able to prevent or postpone costly purchases of circuits, equipment, and the ancillary costs of adding bandwidth and maintaining a wider network infrastructure.
MOREnet deployed VistaInsight for Networks more than one year ago to reduce integration and maintenance costs while complementing in-house real-time network usage reporting capabilities with historical reporting and analysis from InfoVista. MOREnet can identify underutilized resources and bandwidth and right size its network infrastructure accordingly to ensure that members receive the highest service levels possible.
To provide increased member support, MOREnet recently made InfoVista’s historical network usage and performance reports available directly to its member base. If they choose, members can now view usage statistics provided by VistaInsight for Networks directly through MOREnet’s Web-based self-service application.
“We are witnessing increased momentum from enterprises and service providers selecting InfoVista over competitive offerings or replacing current systems with our solutions,” said Jean-Luc Valente, SVP of marketing and strategic alliances, InfoVista. “MOREnet’s selection and deployment of InfoVista reinforces this trend and underscores InfoVista’s position as the de facto standard in service-centric performance management.”
